Real testimonials from real Laser Spine Institute patients

April 2007 - My name is Laura Henle, I live in Nutley, New Jersey and I had Lumbar Surgery at LSI.
Well, here I am one week post surgery and I feel GREAT! Before my surgery at LSI, I had relentless pain in my right lower back, hips, buttocks, and calf that was increasing in intensity so that sleeping was unheard of, and even standing in line at the bank, post office or deli was intolerable. I was looking for some way to alleviate the pain so that I could attempt to live normally. Now I don't have any of that! Just a tiny tingling sensation as my incisions heal! I am truly amazed at what they can do at the Laser spine Institute! I walked into the operating room with the assistance of my anesthesiologist "Peter" who was truly wonderful! ( thank you Peter!)He helped me through the entire process, explaining what was being done, and making sure I was not in any pain. My "procedure" was completed in under an hour, and thanks to the skilled hands of Dr. Michael Weiss, I was on my way to getting my life back. Again, my anesthesiologist and my post op nurses took wonderful care of me, and I was only in recovery for under and hour. My sister was brought back to meet me and there I was walking out of the Laser Spine Institute feeling confident that this one was one of the BEST decisions I have ever made in my life! We went back to our hotel, and I rested for a bit, then I was up and walking for my 30-40 minute walk as I was told. ( again.. totally amazing!) We went to dinner and I could not wait to get on the phone to call all my family and friends to tell them how great I felt already! My sutures will come out in four more days and in the interim, I am doing the exercises I was taught in Physical Therapy before I left LSI to retrain my posture to support my "new" back. I am feeling better and stronger every day! This was a truly AMAZING experience. You are treated with caring, compassion and humor, pleasant smiles and good wishes the entire time. The entire atmosphere at LSI is one of total positive thinking. You see it from the moment you sign in for the first time, to all of the other "patients" filled with anticipation, and right to the last moment your actually sad to leave all your new found friends. The knowledge they have at the Laser Spine Institute is an inspiration to me. I am now walking tall again at my 5'10" height rather than being hunched over in pain. I tell everyone I know, and everyone I meet about my experience with the hope that anyone who suffers the same way I did, or worse, that hearing my story will "inspire" them to look to LSI to help get them on the road to living life to the fullest! Thank you LSI!

February 2007 - My name is Peter Jacobsen, I live in Bonita Springs, Florida and I had Lumbar Surgery at LSI.
As a 30-year veteran of the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour, I wasn’t surprised when I started to develop pain in my back and my legs. Each year my pain grew worse, impacting my golf game and the ability to compete at the highest level. It was also getting in the way of my quality of life, preventing me from doing the things that I love to do with my family and friends. It was becoming increasingly difficult for me to participate in simple everyday activities like walking, biking and exercising. I didn't want to live like that!
There were many different treatment options and facilities that offered to help me, ranging from standard physical therapy and rehabilitation to traditional open back surgery, but none of those services offered the recovery time I was looking for - something that would get me back out on the course quickly!
After months of research, a friend told me about the Laser Spine Institute and their techniques that reduce recovery time and enable you to be treated in an outpatient setting without the use of general anesthesia. I met with the staff and within days scheduled my procedure.
To this day I can’t believe how short my recovery time was. I even made a run at winning the 2007 Toshiba Classic only ten days after my procedure! Since then, I’ve won the 2008 Wendy’s Champions SKINS GAME and look forward to participating in many more events this year and in the future.
Thanks to the fantastic staff at LSI who helped get me back on my feet and out on the golf course again!

February 2007 - My name is Roger Boynes and I had Lumbar Surgery at LSI.
I am the Prime Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs in Trinidad. After a major fall in November of 2006 I suffered with herniated of the disc at L5/S1, which resulted in sciatica. I experience disabling pain and numbness down my left lower limb. I was introduced to this new technology by one of the country's athletes Keron Anthony who also had a similar problem and within six weeks time he was back training with our national team. I felt relief from my symptoms mere hours after my surgery and I am optimistic of a full recovery.

August 2006 - My name is Brian Casey, I live in Houston, Texas and I had Lumbar Surgery at LSI.
Can you believe it!!!!! Today is 6 MONTHS since my back surgery. What a life changing experience. I am more mobile now than I have been in 6 years. I have thanked God many times for Dr. St. Louis and all of you at LSI. I am not as far along in my personal goals for the rehab that I have planned, but Dr. St. Louis said with a smile "you may feel like your 25 again…but your not…..so take your time." So I am. I truly am blessed by what you all at LSI have done for me as well as my family. A lot of my life activities have been restored. This will be my first spring since my surgery and I am so looking forward to working in the yard and flower beds. This has also allowed me to do more outside of my home. I am helping the homeless, I am able to stand, cook and serve others for long periods of time. I love children and I am again able to help in the Children's Ministry at my church. I now can pick them up and hug them, which is something we all need more of. I know that you all at LSI see and hear of things like this every day. And I know that all of you are really excited for those of us who have been through surgery. But until you have been in and lived with the pain and loss of life's simple activities and pleasures, you will never be able to really appreciate the gift that God has given to Dr. St. Louis and all of you, to be able to restore life's activities to us, that had lost it. It is a gift that can never really be repaid. You all have a great day!
